Summary:
UBL is redefining banking for next generations by keeping I.T. & digital technologies at heart of all solutions. As to help with our transformation journey, we are on a lookout for a knowledgeable, passionate and committed program director to help transform UBL into one of the most modern, yet nimble, corporates of the country. As a program director you shall be accountable for end to end delivery of a multi-year, multi-million-dollar program to replace branchless banking core, mid office system/s and Internet, Mobile & Branch Banking channels, including all their integration touch points, to new platforms that bank has recently acquired.
Job Description
- Assume accountability of all project management activities and outcomes as for successful closure of program scope within agreed timelines
- Manage & orchestrate a virtual directorate of 100+ vendor & bank resources comprising of software developers, QA, architects, CX experts, delivery managers, product owners, end users etc.
- Provide implementation oversight and control over work stream activities executed by vendor/s and internal teams
- Manage & direct work streams to deliver timely results, while identifying and mitigating all sort of risks
- Work closely with vendor/s, business teams, operations, information security, L&D etc. and other division of I.T. to remove all sort of impediments and facilitate teams
- Facilitate & manage all sorts of cross functional activities e.g. discovery workshops, UATs, end user trainings etc.
- Ensuring that project management best practices are followed in accordance to regulator’s guidelines
- Ensuring that all necessary project documentation, and artifacts are timely & diligently delivered while developing necessary controlling & governing mechanisms
- Take ownership and accountability of necessary artifacts e.g. Project Plan, Change Plan, Risk Register, Test plan etc.
- Present and explain the overall Project Plan and health of individual work stream to the Project Steering Committee & Excom for their information and / or approval
- Manage finances, logistics etc. for the project directorate.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Technical Field
- Preferred but not essential: MBA, MIS or master’s degree in engineering or Computer Studies
- 12+ years of experience implementing & managing technology solutions in mobile / internet banking, core banking, middleware etc.
- Well versed with people, process and technology eco-systems in banking setup
- Extensive experience in project management of IT projects, with track record of handling multiple projects simultaneously
- Familiarity with Waterfall and Agile (SAFE 5) methodologies.
- Must have experience of directly managing large project / cross functional teams.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with teams across the entire organization
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management and decision-making skills
- A transformative mindset with an ability to adapt to a changing environment, while providing the necessary guidance and motivation to team/s
- Relevant certifications, and international experience, will be added advantage
